Lisa in the clinics senior physiotherapist. She qualified as
a physiotherapist in 2001. She
studied at Brunel University in West London. Since graduating
Lisa has worked in both the NHS and Private sector gaining
a wide range of clinical knowledge and skills.
On
completing her degree she worked as a junior Physiotherapist
at Basildon and Ipswich Hospital and gained experience within
orthopaedics, neurology, respiratory, intensive care, paediatrics,
amputees and musculoskeletal outpatients.

She became a senior physiotherapist
in 2003 and has specialized for the last 6 years as a musculoskeletal
Physiotherapist. Over the last 6 years she has worked
in a busy outpatient department, treating both acute and chronic
conditions, orthopaedic fracture clinic working along
side Consultants, Hydrotherapy, and in the Hand therapy department. She
is therefore able to confidently assess and treat complex patients,
and develop an individualised treatment plan for you.
Lisa has worked as an autonomous practitioner
in a private physiotherapy and sports injury clinic for the
past 3 years, treating complex musculoskeletal problems and
sports injuries. She also works on the wards within a Private
hospital treating patients following surgery and rehabilitating
them so that they are safe and ready to be discharged home. This
keeps her knowledge and experience in treating patients following
joint replacements, arthroscopy’s, spinal surgery, shoulder
replacements, shoulder stabilisations and ligament reconstructions
up to date.
Since graduating Lisa has kept abreast of
recent research and has attended an extensive number of post
graduate courses. You can therefore be confident that the treatment
and advice she gives you is evidence based and appropriate. As
a result of this she is very honest and if she feels physiotherapy
is not the best place for you she will advise you of this and
refer you to the most appropriate person for treatment.
She is qualified in acupuncture and has been
practising this for 3 years using a combination of traditional
Chinese Medicine and Western acupuncture to treat a range of
conditions |
Laura Martin BSc (Hons)

Laura graduated
from Brunel University in 2001. Since
becoming a Chartered Physiotherapist Laura has worked in both
the NHS and private sector. Starting at Basildon Hospital
as a junior physiotherapist she then moved to Ipswich Hospital
to pursue her career. Laura was promoted to Senior Physiotherapist
in 2003 specialising in musculoskeletal conditions.
During
her time at Ipswich Hospital she gained experience in assessing
and treating a wide range of different musculoskeletal conditions
including sports injuries, spinal conditions, Rheumatology
and Orthopaedic conditions. Laura then went on to work
as a senior Physiotherapist at a private hospital in Colchester
treating a variety of upper and lower limb conditions. |

Laura uses a range of different
treatment techniques and skills to treat her patients, including
exercise prescription and progression, Mckenzie, mobilisation,
acupuncture, massage, soft tissue stretches, desensitisation,
wound/scar management, oedema management and splinting for
hand injuries. She
keeps her skills up to date by attending regular postgraduate
courses.
She established Martinsphysio in January 2008
with her twin sister Lisa who is also a Physiotherapist. With
her combined skills Laura provides elite, professional care
for all her patients, whether they are a young athlete or elderly
patient suffering from osteoarthritis. |
